Travel

I absolutely love traveling. I love to go to new places where I have no idea what it’s going to be like or what I will see and do. I don’t do NEARLY enough and I feel like I have just begun to realize my dreams to visit EVERYwhere.

I’ve been to nearly half of the states in the US - a few are from when my family moved to the state of Washington when I was about 6. So I don’t remember a handful of them. Others I have experienced from mearly driving through on my way to California- or New Orleans. So they are “drive-thru” states. The only places I have actually experienced where I have had time to be a tourist and realize are:
California
Colorado
New Mexico
Louisiana
Illinois (of course)
Wisconsin
Michigan
Tennessee
Washington

Those are basically the only states that I specifically remember enough to have an opinion about them. And the first and only time I’ve been out of the country was about a month ago when Loree and I took a trek to Canada and the Falls.

I want to visit everywhere. Absolutely everywhere. I don’t have the funds for it, but someday I will see things like Athens and the Parthenon, Rome and the Collisseum, The Great Wall of China, Egypt and the Pyramids (yep, I’m a history buff, anyone see the connection here? lol ) Loree and I have talked about making the Grand Canyon or the Ozarks our next trip.. We shall see.

NINE days from today I will be at the Rocky Mountains in Colorado taking in the mountain air and the fresh sun. Can’t beat that!

Images broken

There are a host of broken images scattered in posts throughout this blog. That is due in part to moving it so many times, I haven’t kept up with the links as well as I should have. I’m working on fixing it, if anyone is wondering. (not that anyone is.)

Movie of the Year 2006 - REVISION

Last KissClerks 2 was previously named “Movie of the Year” by yours truely. But I think that I should edit that and move it down to second place. As genius of a movie as it is, it has been replaced in my eyes by a wonderful film that brought thoughts and feelings out of me that movies generally don’t dare touch.

Not many will agree with me on this one, and well, “Last Kiss” is a movie that targets quite a specific audience.  I just happen to fall exactly inside the target and it really hit home for me.  Being 29 and on the verge of making important decisions - while trying to hang onto your younger life - can create some massive confusion and even heartache.

Each person in this movie goes through experiences that I can relate to. The overall message of the film? In my opinion, it was do whatever it takes. You need to make yourself happy before you can make anyone else truely happy. Do whatever it takes, don’t give up and always be honest.

Quite an emotional and powerful ride. “Last Kiss” means a lot to me and has moved up to my #1 spot for this year.

Everyone have a wonderful day.
