Ok, so I’m thinking of changing up my theme again… I’m never satisfied. Anyone have any ideas?? I’m thinking of going with something calm… some reds (my fav color).. something plain, clean, basic… that’s my style usually with this type stuff..

If anyone finds any killer images for banners or anything, let me know..

311’s quality of their albums is a dizzying up and down since their break-through “blue” album in 1995. Every 2 years a new album comes out like clockwork. 1997’s “Transistor” was down [for me], 1999’s “Soundsystem” was down [for me], 2001’s “From Chaos” was up, and 2003’s “Evolver” was (way) up. (I’m leaving out last year’s “Greatest Hits” album).

“Don’t Thread on Me” (11 tracks, 37 min.) continues the trend and, while not “bad” per se, it’s definitely down from “Evolver”. The album does contain a couple of good moments, including the title track, “Solar Flare” and the closer “There’s Always an Excuse”. But there are no truly stand-out tracks and there are unfortunately too many “lazy” songs that don’t get anywhere. (And what is with the steel drums? Showing up in 2 tracks…)

As a live act, 311 remains amazing as always. I saw them 5 days before this album was released, and they were outstanding. As a long time fan, I’m already looking forward to the 2007 album 311 will release, which, if the trend holds up, will be kick ass..

Until then, I’m gonna throw “Music” or “Grassroots” back in and try to remember how it once was, and how it could be again.

1.5 out of 4 for me.

You all know where I live… Getting downtown on the train is a snap.. Walking to HOB from Olgilvie station takes like 15 min tops - it’s sweet. Milwaukee is no problem, we’re there within an hour. If any of you have NOT been to this site and read this guy’s stories, DO IT NOW. He’s rude, vulgar, chauvenist and also the funniest person alive. If you are offended easily - NOT FOR YOU. There are various stories to read through, but I would start with something like “Sushi Pants” or “Tucker tries butt sex” - they are all classics, really.

This guy is from around here (Chicago area) and has written books.. I think he is currently working on a movie - trying to break into the Hollywood scene. God help us all.

I’ve been drunk every night since Wednesday…. Is that a problem? All I know is I’ve had a damn good weekend so I’m not going to listen to my liver’s complaints. I made some pretty kick ass new friends this weekend - proving the hangovers were worth it.

Actually I normally don’t even get a hangover and didn’t really this weekend either. I am just exhausted. About 5 hrs of sleep Thursday night, 2 hrs on Friday night, short nap Sat, probably around 5 hrs last night and I fully plan to go to bed early tonight!

Probably one of the best weekends in a very long time. Good times…
